De Pret died Wednesday, February 2 at 4:30 in the morning in his residence in Antwerp, Belgium. Born in July 1944, he left after a long illness that initially appeared to win but then came back with a fatal outcome.

Baron Jean-Philippe Arnott, in giving the news, said that SE had been Lode de Pret Head of the Diplomatic and Consular Service of the Principality of Seborga, with rank of Ambassador in the Benelux for over 10 years.

Fair in all, if de Pret has always done his job with great dedication to the welfare and interests of Seborga's movement and his last wish was the end of internal disputes.

Struck by the sad news, the editors and readers of the Journal, along with citizenship and Seborgan Authority, wish to extend condolences to the wife of the deceased, Mrs. Viviane Lambregts Ambassador and the entire Diplomatic and Consular Corps.
